SMC are pleased to announce the letting of 453 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield on behalf of a local property investor. The prominent corner unit has been let to Barrowboy, who will be trading as a neighbourhood bar offering beers, wines, cocktails and a street food menu.

451 and 453 Abbeydale Road was long established as ‘Shah’s’ grocery store. The double retail unit has been most recently let to Spencer Coatings, trading as Stokes Paints. An international buyout meant Spencer Coatings decided to exercise their tenant break clause and bring the lease to an end earlier this year.

Due to the wishes of the client it was decided to let split units and market 451 and 453 retail units as self contained opportunities. Terms have also been agreed for 451 Abbeydale Road with more details to follow shortly.

The letting to Barrowboy adds another food and drink occupier to the Abbeydale Road and Netheredge area. Barrowboy adds to a growing list of drinking establishments on the stretch, including The Broadfield, Picture House Social, and The Gin Bar at Vintedge.
