We’re pleased to confirm Unit 8, Learoyd Way, Hillsborough Barracks, Sheffield has now been let! SMC Chartered Surveyors acting jointly with Savills on behalf of Opus Land (North) Ltd have let another retail unit at The Parade Shopping Centre.

The 2,913 sq ft ground floor unit was let to Sheffield Cat Shelter, a charity for stray and unwanted cats who have over a 100 year history in Sheffield and the surrounding areas.

Sheffield Cat Shelter already trade from another shop at 285 Ecclesall Road, with this deal representing the next step in the charity’s expansion plans. Sheffield Cat Shelter are due to open Unit 8 to the public from Thursday 20th September 2018.

Unit 8 provides mainly clear open plan ground floor accommodation and was marketed as suitable for a variety of retail uses. The accommodation had been occupied by Sheffield College previously.

The letting adds to the deal SMC negotiated earlier this year to PetZone, a family run pet supplies store, who occupy Unit 2. There are now only two retail opportunities available at Hillsborough Barracks; Unit 11 which is a 709 sq ft unit with A3 planning consent and Unit 26 which is a 2,060 sq ft retail unit with a very prominent double frontage close to Morrisons supermarket.
