The COVID-19 virus is having an unprecedented effect on how businesses and individuals interact. It is a rapidly developing situation and we are continuously monitoring the circumstances. SMC will follow the advice given by the Government and Chief Medical Officer. We wish to continue to act for our clients to the best of our abilities, whilst safeguarding the health of our staff.
SMC has put in place contingency plans to enable us to continue working as best we can. We have the technology to enable homeworking which should maintain continuity of service whilst we work from home.
We will not hold face to face meetings at our offices or on site for the foreseeable future. We will be happy to arrange phone conferences, Skype calls, etc as an alternative.
An important part of our work is inspecting properties and meeting people outside of the office. We will practice social distancing. In order to perform inspections/surveys we will, for the time being, only inspect premises if vacant and if absolutely necessary. Valuation and building surveys may in some circumstances have to be limited. Accompanied viewings of properties for lettings and sales are suspended.
These are challenging times for all of us, but please be assured that we will do all that is reasonable to offer our clients the best level of service the circumstances allow.
Our aim is to continue offering the highest level of service no matter what happens.
